Fun With Remotes

Posted on January 17th, 2007 in Digital, Fun by Rebel Fish

Ever wondered if your MacBook Pro or iMac remote works on other people’s computers? Sure it does. Ever wondered how much fun you could have at a tradeshow? Sure you have…

So did David Jay, Kevin Swan, and Nathan Holritz, which is what inspired them to have a little fun at the recent PPA convention, in San Antonio… Enjoy.

Now, for those of you Mac-heads who want to protect yourself from such audacious behavior (you know Rebel Fish wouldn’t leave you hangin’) Take your remote, point it at your computer, and hold Menu + Next for 5 seconds. You will see an icon of two chain links to indicate the paring was successful. Then you’ll be protected from future abuse.

The video was hilarious! That’s what is always happening with the computers in my office. Thanks for the tip, I can use my remote again!

People should really Read the fraking manual. You can pair your Mac with YOUR remote so that wouldn’t have worked on mine :)

And to make it a learning experience for everybody I won’t write here how to do it you must learn to take your manuals in your own hands and read them with your own eyes.
